New Cola can pavilion from the Müritz-Sparkasse: art meets function!

In Röbel, below the water tower, there is a new eye-catcher: the self-service pavilion of the Müritz-Sparkasse, which was quickly nicknamed the “Cola can” due to its funny design. With the round shape and the strong red, combined with a white lettering, it not only attracts attention, but also has a practical use. Right next to the DRK building, where there is also a daycare center, this pavilion ensures that all banking transactions can be carried out conveniently. The parking situation, which caused fears in the planning, remains unaffected - the parking spaces will be retained. Nordkurier reports that the machine with deposit and withdrawal functions is easily accessible for everyone.

Andrea Perlick, the chairwoman of the Müritz-Sparkasse, describes the bright color as “a cheerful red”. This combination of functionality and aesthetic design is no coincidence; The artistic touch was provided by the graffiti artist Andreas Unger, who designed the walls of the pavilion together with a student. The motifs, including the silhouette of the city and popular cranes, give the place an individual character and create an appealing atmosphere.

Art and security go hand in hand

The importance of cash in an increasingly digital world is taken seriously by Müritz-Sparkasse. Perlick emphasizes that despite all the discussions about the future of cash, they are convinced that it remains an important means of payment. In an innovative step, the Sparkasse donated 1,500 euros for further graffiti projects, and Andreas Unger is planning workshops at schools to introduce children and young people to the art of graffiti.

The safety aspect has also been taken into account. The pavilion is equipped with a security concept that protects against, among other things, explosions, break-ins and vandalism. The company Veloform Media GmbH, which manufactured the pavilion, also integrated a frost monitor to ensure smooth operation even in the cold season.

Another pavilion is being planned

But that's not all! A second, identical pavilion in muted gray is already being planned for the Waren harbor. This shows Müritz-Sparkasse's commitment to a modern and secure cash supply in the region. Experiences and requirements that were also implemented in the construction of similar pavilions such as the one in Porz-Grengel for the Sparkasse KölnBonn are incorporated here. These have been there since March 31, 2022 and are designed to meet the latest security requirements in order to offer visitors maximum security.

Local click and Veloform offer exciting insights into similar projects that show that modern self-service pavilions are much more than just functional ATMs.

The new pavilion in Röbel not only symbolizes a modern approach to cash supply, but also the effort to combine art and functionality and to promote sustainable projects in the region.
