Bremen celebrates at the Hoeg”: slackliners, music and lots of fun!
Next weekend, Bremen's city center will once again be transformed into a pulsating festival area when the popular city festival “Hoeg” opens its doors. This three-day open-air event promises a colorful program for young and old that appeals to all the senses. The name “Hoeg” comes from Low German and means something like “Da hög ick mi över”, which is equivalent to a cry of joy. With this in mind, visitors can look forward to a festival full of music, treats and variety.
As the district newspaper reports, the city festival will not only feature over 40 musical performances, but also slackliner tricks. They balance spectacularly on high ropes between the imposing cathedral towers and ensure exciting moments above the market square, the Domsheide and between the Liebfrauenkirche. One of the musical highlights is the French music group “P’tits Fils de Jeanine”, which creates a good atmosphere on the Sparkasse stage.
Art, music and enjoyment
The market square stage is animated by presenter Matze Hoppe while he entertains visitors with various acts. A special highlight will be the appearance of Levent Geiger, who is a former support for the “Backstreet Boys”. He presents his new song “Champagne” and plays several instruments, including guitar and saxophone. Flo Mega is also expected from the local music scene, who will delight the crowd with his band and, wearing a hat and sunglasses, sing about new beginnings after a relationship breakup.
For families, the wooden structures with basket swings at the Domshof are an additional attraction, while the children get their money's worth with the children's fun. A total of numerous acts will be heard on four stages and six locations, including singer-songwriter Tenski and the post-millennial women's band Paulinko. Physical well-being doesn’t fall by the wayside either. Visitors can look forward to a variety of food and drink stalls offering regional and international delicacies.
A festival with tradition
“Hoeg” has become an integral part of Bremen’s event calendar since it was first held in 2022. The enthusiasm of the visitors speaks for itself. Over the years, more than 40 acts and numerous attractions have established themselves, making the city festival a real experience. The event attracts many interested visitors who want to celebrate the city's atmosphere together.
In summary, the Bremen city festival “Hoeg” offers an entertaining program for the whole family. A weekend full of music, delicious food and exciting performances is expected - a real highlight in Bremen's event summer!
