Bremen in a gambling frenzy: high demand for illegal offers!

A worrying trend is currently being observed in Bremen: the city has the seventh highest number of searches for illegal online gambling among the 30 largest cities in Germany. These findings come from the comparison platform BILD-Casinos, which analyzed over 185,000 Google search queries and examined 50 search terms, including “casino without OASIS”. In the last 12 months, there were an average of 152.6 search queries per 100,000 Google users in Bremen, while the nationwide average is only 92.9, as Bremennews.de reports.

What is particularly noticeable is that Mönchengladbach is at the top of the rankings with 337.4 search queries per 100,000 users, followed by cities such as Frankfurt (264.4), Wuppertal (222.9) and Duisburg (216.5). It's shocking that four of the five most searched cities are in North Rhine-Westphalia. For comparison: Munich only registered 50.4 search queries. At the state level, Saxony-Anhalt (224.7) and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (203.3) have the highest values, while Hesse (37.4) and Hamburg (66.3) have the lowest numbers.

The search for alternatives

This development raises questions: What attracts people to illegal online gambling sites? And what measures could be taken to counteract this growing demand? Experts suggest that the exciting world of gambling and the opportunity to win money quickly are a big draw. Users who search for such offers behind the backs of the authorities could also ignore risks and side effects, such as the risk of addiction.

Parallel to this situation, there are also movements in international politics that are shaping the headlines: Donald Trump recently said in an interview that he would “like” to run for a third term in 2028. Although the US Constitution does not actually allow this, Trump does not rule out running for office again. His former advisor Steve Bannon has already floated plans that address the possibility of Trump returning to the White House. Bannon speculated that Trump might run for vice president before the president steps down to give him the Oval Office spot, USA Today reports.

It remains exciting to see how both the local situation regarding illegal gambling and the political landscape in the USA will develop. While Bremen is confronted with its questionable online search queries, an old friend could once again be coming to the fore on the political stage. There's something going on!
