On October 17, 2025 the time has finally come: the highly anticipated Queen musical “We Will Rock You” will celebrate its premiere at the Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. After 15 years, the iconic production returns to the big stage, having first performed at London's Dominion Theater in 2002. With over 16 million viewers in 19 countries, the musical has already won a permanent place in the hearts of many fans, and the excitement in the theater world is palpable.

The musical tells the gripping story of Galileo, a young rebel who lives in a dystopian future where creativity and rock music are strictly forbidden. Together with those around him, he searches for a way to defend himself against the tyrannical regime that oppresses the Bohemian world. Together with a talented cast, including not only Galileo, but also Scaramouche and the dreaded Killer Queen, he fights for the free exchange of ideas and culture. This timeless story is strongly reminiscent of the classic themes of resistance and freedom.

The musical experience

The music of the musical, which is considered a jukebox musical, is based exclusively on the hits of the British rock band Queen. Memorable tunes include classics like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” “We Are The Champions” and “We Will Rock You.” All songs are sung in English, which differs from previous productions. The new production is characterized by a fresh script, stirring choreographies by Arlene Phillips and a significantly younger cast.

The production is meticulously prepared with 32 participants, 120 wigs, 60 different lipsticks and over 300 brushes for make-up. The impressive multi-ton LED walls and the live band playing on a movable wall on the stage provide a technical spectacle that immerses viewers in the futuristic world.

A big event

The premiere will be crowned by a special guest: Brian May, the legendary guitarist of Queen, is expected for the first performance and has even provided copies of his famous “Red Special” guitar. This promises an impressive evening that will make the hearts of Queen fans beat faster. The show itself lasts almost three hours and consists of a total of 24 famous songs.

“We Will Rock You” was initially controversial among critics, but over time it developed into an absolute audience favorite. It is remembered as one of the longest running musicals at the Dominion Theater in London. The production also enjoyed great international popularity and is still performed in numerous countries and cities today.
