Cashless payments are trending

The development of cashless payment transactions in Germany is obvious. Statista reports that in 2023 non-cash payments in Germany reached an impressive 63.6 trillion euros. The debit card has replaced direct debit as the most commonly used non-cash payment method. It turns out that the demand for cashless payment methods is increasing - 88% of Germans expect to be able to pay cashless everywhere, according to a GfK study.

The increased use of mobile payment methods, such as apps such as Apple Pay, has led to more and more entrepreneurs expanding their payment options. Providers such as payment experts, myPOS, Zettle and Payone offer different models that are tailored to the needs of small and large companies.

An example: With a turnover of 4,000 euros, the total costs for card payments are around 57.25 euros, which corresponds to 1.43% of turnover. The Handelsblatt emphasizes that the cost structure of providers varies and transparency in fees is an important criterion for entrepreneurs.

The integration of cashless payment methods goes beyond sports and reflects the changing needs of a digitalized society. Whether in the supermarket or in the arena, cashless payments are increasingly making everyday life more efficient and easier.
