Linkin Park surprises Hamburg: two concerts in 2026 in the Volksparkstadion!
What's brewing in Hamburg? The enthusiastic fans of Linkin Park can look forward to two concerts that will take place in the Volksparkstadion in summer 2026. The comeback of the rock legend
The year 2024 already marked the starting signal for Linkin Park's comeback. After what felt like an eternity, fans were there live on September 22, 2024 at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg when the band performed with a new line-up. Emily Armstrong, former frontwoman of the band Dead Sara, followed in the footsteps of the legendary Chester Bennington as the new singer. The tickets for this special evening were sold out within a very short time ticketmaster.de.
To properly kick off the comeback, the band kept fans in suspense with a 100-hour countdown that featured a short section of music and an image of a distorted silhouette. The new song “The Emptiness Machine” was introduced during a livestream on September 6, 2024. Fans can also look forward to the new album “From Zero”, which will be released on November 15, 2024.
A band with history
Linkin Park is considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 21st century. Founded in 1996 by Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson, the band shaped the musical landscape with hits like “Crawling” and “Numb.” Her debut album, Hybrid Theory, was one of the best-selling albums of the 2000s and earned her a Grammy for "Crawling." It's no secret that the band continues to amaze with their creative concepts, whether through collaborations with Jay-Z or the stylistic transformation in albums like "Minutes to Midnight" and "One More Light".
The tragedy of the loss of Chester Bennington in July 2017 deeply affected the band and their fans. The tribute to the frontman, who died far too early, took place in 2017 with a moving concert. But the band picked themselves up again and found new ways to escape the vicious circle of loss and grief.
The upcoming concerts in Hamburg and the release of the new album will undoubtedly herald a new era for Linkin Park. The excitement couldn't be greater and the announcements show: Linkin Park is back and ready to delight their fans once again!
