These will open from the end of November, from November 24th in many cities. The anticipation of contemplative hours, sparkling lights and festive treats is already palpable kultur-mv.de reported.

Just in time for winter, the Christmas market opens in Rostock, which is known as the largest Christmas market in the north. From the gourmet mile to the fairytale forest to an impressive Ferris wheel – there is something for everyone here. The festive atmosphere around Kröpeliner Straße and Neuer Markt ensures a lively flow of visitors, and opening times vary from Monday to Sunday so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the treats and attractions.

Christmas markets in the region

The charming coastal town of Binz attracts visitors with its Christmas market “Christmas Meets the North” in the spa gardens. The focus here is on Swedish traditions and culinary highlights. Whether delicious Köttbullar, sweet cinnamon rolls or aromatic gingerbread, the offer not only promises culinary delights, but also a varied program with Nordic fairy tales and carriage rides.

In Bansin, on the other hand, the Christmas market opens from December 12th to 14th, and the focus here is primarily on local suppliers. From jewelry to wooden products to delicious game meat dishes, everything is there. Holidays here are celebrated nationally and regionally.

Wismar, which boasts its “World Heritage Christmas Market”, will attract visitors from November 24th to December 22nd. In addition to regional sausages and meat products, the art market offers a colorful selection of ceramics. The highlight is the performance of “The Nutcracker”, a magical experience for the little ones.

Special attractions in Schwerin and Stralsund

Schwerin not only offers festively illuminated stands in the old town, but also a Ferris wheel and a creative craft and adventure world for children. The pre-Christmas season is celebrated here from November 24th to December 30th - families can look forward to this, while the ice skating rink at Pfaffenteich brightens up the cooling winter days.

In Stralsund, four Christmas markets can be visited from November 24th. From the Old Market with its hut village to the New Market, where the Christmas fair with rides beckons, to the St. John's Monastery, which brings history to life with a medieval market. A real highlight for all age groups!

And don't forget: From November 27th, Greifswald will open the gates to a festively decorated winter village on the market square, where children will be welcomed by Santa Claus in the museum harbor. Such traditional elements particularly characterize the Christmas markets in our state.

Whether in small towns or large cities, there is a diverse program across the country that exudes Christmas spirit. Whether smelling freshly roasted almonds or listening to Christmas carols around the campfire - Advent is also a special time in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania to spend the festive season together with your loved ones.
