Home check in Ludwigslust-Parchim: Citizens demand clear improvements!

What does the future hold for the Ludwigslust-Parchim area? A recent Home Check survey shows that many people feel comfortable in the region and appreciate the quiet atmosphere and good infrastructure. Nordkurier reports that almost 1000 personal comments were received, which not only provided positive feedback, but also highlighted critical points that should encourage improvement.

Among the participants' suggestions are the construction of a swimming pool in Ludwigslust, an expanded dial-a-bus connection, compensation for citizens affected by wind turbines, and regional heating concepts. Another important concern is medical care, as there is currently a shortage of dentists, forcing citizens to travel to Schwerin to receive these services.

Investments in infrastructure

The Ludwigslust-Parchim district is investing over 16 million euros in transport infrastructure for the 2025 financial year. Wirtschaft MV emphasizes that these funds are for the expansion and maintenance of district roads and cycle paths and bridges should be used. A resolution by the district council in the 2024/2025 double budget enables the implementation of 14 significant projects in the construction calendar.

Important construction projects include the fundamental expansion of the K 59 in Dütschow, which is intended to increase traffic safety, as well as the expansion of the K 29 between Pätow and Steegen, which is planned from May to November 2025. Around 1.5 million euros will be invested here. The construction of a new cycle path along the K 30 from Hasenhäge to Sülte, which has a construction period of August to December 2025, will also mean an increase in quality of life for cyclists.

A step towards equal living conditions

The district's efforts are part of a larger goal: creating equal living conditions in Germany. [BMWSB]. In this context, the federal government is committed to supporting structurally weak regions and strengthening the balance between urban and rural areas.

This political mandate includes the creation of attractive living spaces in both urban and rural areas. In rural areas where many people live, these measures are particularly important in order to counteract migration and guarantee citizens an environment worth living in.

The developments in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district bring together the hopes and concerns of citizens and show that regional commitment and responsibility can go hand in hand to create a more livable future.
