From the outset, it saw itself as an agile and flexible ensemble that offered a powerful counterpart to the region's major orchestras. UmKulturAgenturPreussen emphasizes that the PKO is now considered a cultural anchor point for the Uckermark and Brandenburg and regularly presents innovative concert formats. In addition to the traditional performances, there are exciting projects such as “Klassik in Dorfkirchen” and festivals such as the “Bebersee Festival”.
Under the artistic direction of Jürgen Bruns, who has been in charge since 2019, the PKO brings together twelve permanent musicians from six different nations and cooperates closely with freelance artists and regional choirs.
