Festival in the castle garden: The circus princess enchants!

On July 22, 2025, the Neustrelitz castle gardens shone in full splendor at the start of this year's festival. Over 1,800 visitors flocked to the premiere evening to be enchanted by Emmerich Kálmán's magical operetta “The Circus Princess”. The plot of the operetta tells of the mysterious aerial acrobat Mister X, who, disguised as Prince Korossow, goes in search of Princess Fedora Palinska. Topics such as political intrigue, secret desires and social prejudices are addressed. The musical variety ranges from rousing Viennese waltzes to circus music and modern foxtrot. This year, visitors can also look forward to a very special star: circus artist Lea Toran Jenner, better known as “ZirkusLea”, will be a highlight of the show with her impressive CYR wheel performance.

A long tradition

The festival in Neustrelitz Castle Gardens has a long and proud tradition that dates back to 2001. Held in the beautiful region of the Mecklenburg Lake District, the festival annually presents a series of performances that delight the audience.
