Happy holidays in Wesenberg: fairy tales, dancing and mulled wine magic!

Last Saturday, November 29th, 2025, a magical Christmas market was held on the market square in Wesenberg, where the first “Wesenberg Christmas Walk” took place. Hundreds of visitors flocked to the festival to enjoy the festive atmosphere in front of the town hall. The good mood of those present was palpable when the children from Kita Spatzenhus presented a Christmas program and created enthusiasm with lively dances. Amid the hustle and bustle, Santa Claus brought bad gifts and lots of joy to the crowd as his red sleigh parked in the square.

Around 20 stalls and huts ensured that there was something for every taste. Not only regional products were on offer, but also original Christmas presents, which were very popular with visitors. A new, nameless choir turned out to be a real eye-catcher, winning the hearts of the listeners with their first public appearance. The stories that Mrs. Holle told on the market square as well as the artistically designed wooden figures contributed to the festive atmosphere.

A colorful program for young and old

But there was something to discover not only for the eyes: in the craft street in the town hall, the children were able to let their creativity run wild. Dagmar Hirsch and her granddaughter came up with delicious chocolate Advent calendars that were intended to get visitors excited about the upcoming Advent. A special highlight was the opportunity for the little ones to put their wish lists in a special mailbox for Santa Claus. This made for smiling faces among the children.

A great community project was set up by the local community, in which the Wesenberg Castle Association and 40 active helpers took part. The market was not only enlivened by the numerous attractions, but also by the conviviality that visitors to the market appreciated. Traders had also sponsored 24 packages for an Advent auction to generate income for future celebrations - a nice way to secure not only the present but also the future of the Christmas market.

A culinary highlight

In the various huts, the urban delicacies were the real attraction. The crispy garlic bread and the 60 liters of white mulled wine were particularly popular - everything was sold out by the end of the day!

The fire brigade's festive lights gave the market square a very special shine at the end of the event. The Wesenberg Christmas Walk shows once again how important it is to maintain traditions during the Christmas season, in the spirit of German Christmas customs, which focus on joy, community and being together. While the Christmas markets traditionally open their doors at the end of November, you can clearly feel the magic of Advent here, which no visitor wants to miss, as merry-christmas.de describes.
