Karl's Adventure Village: Record collection of 55,000 coffee pots is growing!
In the heart of Rövershagen, not far from Rostock, the ideas and attractions in Karl's adventure village are literally overflowing. The main attraction that magically attracts visitors is the impressive coffee pot collection, which has now grown to an incredible 55,269 pieces. This means that the collection has more than doubled since it was entered into the Guinness World Records book in 2012, when 27,390 jugs were the record. Nordkurier reports This number continues to grow as guests are always invited to donate their old and no longer needed coffee pots.
How did this colorful collecting project actually come about? The impetus for this came from a woman from Rövershagen who wanted to display her coffee pots in her living room. Due to a lack of space, she was looking for a solution and had the brilliant idea during a visit to Karls: to exhibit her jugs at the Karlchen farmers market. How Karl's website Karlchen enthusiastically agreed, and so the two of them began to integrate the jugs on the walls of the market.
Artwork made from coffee pots
The coffee pots aren't just set up; they are creatively incorporated into the farmer's market decorations. The walls are decorated with jugs up to the ceiling, with each jug bearing a number, a photo and the name of the donor. In this way, the collection not only becomes visible - it becomes a work of art that invites you to both marvel and participate.
And the visitors happily accept this invitation! Karlchen has even installed mobile shelving systems in other adventure villages such as Zirkow, Warnsdorf, Koserow and Elstal. The “Coffee Pot Express”, which travels through Rövershagen to look after and show the pots, is particularly popular. Despite the world record, the guests insist on continuing to give away pots, and so the collection remains in motion and full of stories.
A record that makes you proud
On November 2, 2012, Karlchen received a certificate from a delegation from the Guinness Book of World Records for the impressive 27,390 cans. This award is a very special gem for the community. But the story doesn't end there: With every new donation, the record continues to grow, and the decorative highlights at the farmers' market attract people from near and far.
