Children's fun in the zoo: put on a beekeeper's suit and discover bees!
On Friday, August 15th, it's that time again: Neustrelitz Zoo opens its gates for this year's State Zoo Day, and the anticipation is great! Children up to 14 years of age have free entry on this special day, thanks to generous funding from the state. This makes it possible for little explorers to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of animals and at the same time learn a lot about zoological institutions. Again Northern Courier reports, bees are particularly in focus this year.
Under the motto “Where is it humming?” everything revolves around the small, hard-working animals. The trainees at the zoo have come up with all kinds of ideas to offer the children not only knowledge, but also very practical experiences. A highlight will be slipping into a beekeeping suit. Here the children can experience up close what it is like to accompany a beekeeper and observe the goings-on in the hive up close. Fresh honey is also available in the Tiergarten shop – a real treat!
Colorful summer holidays in the zoo
But the State Zoo Day is just the beginning of exciting events at Neustrelitz Zoo. In addition to the big event, there are also some special feedings and activities on the program during the summer holidays. On August 14th, early risers can enjoy breakfast at Stinktier & Co. There are also feedings for monkeys, ferrets and skunks on countless days, which take place at 2 p.m. These dates are a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the animal residents and experience them up close.
