In Neustrelitz, collectors met at an international ballpoint pen swap meet to exchange and discuss over 1.5 million writing instruments.

Last weekend, collectors from different countries gathered in the idyllic surroundings of Mirow for the 59th exchange meet of the **Ballpoint Pen Collectors Club**. Particularly noteworthy is the Danish collector Finn Sorensen, who is known for his amazing collection of around1.5 million ballpoint pensmade a name. Sorensen, who has devoted his free time to collecting for the past 40 years, stored his treasures in shipping containers and a special house on his private property. This passion seems to be not just a hobby, but a true life's work.
Another outstanding participant wasMarcus Baumfrom Wismar, which has the largest monothematic ballpoint pen collection of a particular bank with over10,000 ballpoint penscalls his own. Together with Sorensen and a number of other collectors the swap meet was inHotel Mecklenburger Hofa venue for the exchange of rarities and anecdotes about ballpoint pens.
The exchange in detail
This year's swap meet took place on June 13th and 14th, 2025 and was the 59th event of its kind. The club, which was founded in 1992 and now38 memberscounts, has been used since 1998Andreas Hennigled from Suhl. At these meetings it is customary to exchange new material and talk shop about the truth and values of ballpoint pens.
