Neustrelitz: Discover the truth about monument protection in the castle!
There will soon be something special to discover in Neustrelitz: from July 4th to September 30th, the exhibition "Love or Burden!? Construction Site Monument" by the German Foundation for Monument Protection will open in the castle church. This multimedia traveling exhibition has set itself the task of drawing attention to misunderstandings and errors in monument protection and thus ensuring greater understanding of this important topic. The hosts, the city of Neustrelitz and the cultural quarter, have put together an interesting concept in cooperation with the Residenzschlossverein that is likely to attract numerous visitors.
The exhibition is attractively designed; Scaffolding symbolizes different types of buildings and attracts attention. Visitors can look forward to six interactive stations that shed light on various aspects of monument protection. These include, among other things, the process by which a building becomes a monument and the dangers that monuments are exposed to. Exciting and curious facts about the topic of monument protection are also presented. This mix of information and interactivity is aimed at a wide audience, including architects, planners, teachers and students as well as monument owners and restorers.
Opening times and visiting information
The exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This gives those interested plenty of opportunity to deal with the topics of monument protection and perhaps even gain some new knowledge about historical buildings.
Broadened perspectives through memories
The exhibition in Neustrelitz can therefore be viewed not only as an informative contribution to monument protection, but also as part of a larger discourse about our social responsibility towards the past. The important clarification of misunderstandings runs through the entire topic, be it in monument protection or in the culture of remembrance.
So be sure to visit the innovative exhibition in the castle church and become part of a stimulating dialogue about protecting our cultural heritage and the stories embedded in it!
