What a success story! The 2025 festival season in Neustrelitz boasted impressive numbers and a colorful variety of programs. From July 18th to August 9th, almost 12,500 visitors experienced the magical performance of the operetta “The Circus Princess” by Emmerich Kálmán. This production by the Theater and Orchestra GmbH Neubrandenburg / Neustrelitz was able to increase the number of visitors by a whopping 13.6 percent compared to the previous year - in 2023 there were still 11,000 guests.
A total of 13 performances took place in the picturesque castle church. The captivating plot revolves around the aerial acrobat Mister X and Princess Fedora Palinska, peppered with intrigue in St. Petersburg and a conciliatory happy ending in Vienna. The performance of the circus artist Lea Toran Jenner, known as “ZirkusLea”, who drew passionate applause with her breathtaking acrobatics, will be particularly remembered. The evening performances, which ended with an impressive fireworks display, were also a real highlight.
A multi-layered additional program
However, the festival season was not just limited to the operetta. Around 2,600 visitors enjoyed other events as part of the festival. These included, among others:
- „Bastien und Bastienne“ im Schlossgarten
- Das Kinderstück „Poseidon und die Plastiksee“
- Die emotional berührende „Udo Jürgens Tribute Show“
- Der Elementezyklus „Feuer, Wasser, Luft“ der Deutschen Tanzkompanie Neustrelitz
- Das Familienkonzert „Orchestermäuse“ im Tiergarten.
With a total of around 15,100 visitors in the 2025 festival summer, Theater und Orchestra GmbH is in remarkable shape. The overall balance of the 2024/25 season is also impressive: with 105,930 visitors, an increase of 1.8 percent was achieved compared to the previous season, which had 104,052 guests.

The festival season in Neustrelitz is not only a sign of the success of the theater, but also an indicator of the great interest in performing arts in our region. All you can say is: There's something going on!
