In the picturesque region of the Mecklenburg Lake District, things are going like a fairytale this summer. The popular ones Puppet show weeks offer a colorful program for the whole family from July to August. Laugh your guts out, feel scared or just be amazed - it's all possible here!
Overall, numerous artists and groups are taking part in the puppet show weeks this year, including: Dresden Puppet Theater, the Puppenstelz puppet theater as well as freelance puppeteers such as Maren Kaun, Ute Kotte, Cornelia Fritzsche and Christian Bahrmann. This creative troupe brings the most famous fairy tales to the stage: “Sleeping Beauty”, “Rapunzel” and “Puss in Boots” are just a few highlights of the program.
Versatile program in July and August
The puppet show weeks are not only a feast for the eyes, they also offer an excellent opportunity to encourage children's creative side. Overall, you can look forward to various performances, each lasting around 45 minutes. Admission is free, but guests should bring blankets or cushions to make themselves comfortable.

Special performances and talents
But the program offers much more. The Ernst Heiter puppet theater will be performing “The 4 Town Musicians” right at the beginning of the puppet show weeks on July 7th. Afterwards, Ulrich Müller-Hönow will be on stage with “Frau Holle”, while Maren Kaun will present the fairy tale “Rapunzel”. The stories are not only entertaining for children, but are also a real treat for adults.
A special highlight will also be the Puppenstelz Figure Theater, which will perform “Puss in Boots” on August 18th. Christian Bahrmann concludes the series with “Kasper and the Dino,” which is sure to put a smile on the faces of viewers big and small.
The events are made possible by cities and municipalities as well as with the help of subsidies from the Mecklenburg Lake District. This creates a great cultural program for the region.
