Tourism experts in the Lake District are looking for solutions for year-round leisure!
The “1000Seen Forum” took place today in the picturesque Schlosshotel Neustrelitz, an important meeting in which around 100 tourism professionals from the region took part. Here, experts discussed pressing issues such as the seasonal extension of the tourist offer, which is of great interest to everyone involved. The central motto of the event, “Season extension – experience our lake district for 365 days”, gives an idea of the ambitions that are in place to make the Mecklenburg Lake District attractive all year round. Loud Strelitzius A digital travel guide was also presented, which is already being used in several places and is intended to help increase the visibility of tour suggestions.
The organization of the forum was in the trusted hands of the Mecklenburg Lake District Tourism Association, which also developed concrete strategies for a sustainable pre- and post-season with an IHK workshop. A working group is to be set up that will operate under the leadership of the Neubrandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the MSE tourism association. It is hoped that group and event tourism can be strengthened by bundling capacities and activities.
New paths thanks to AI and innovation
The discussions about the use of artificial intelligence in tourism were particularly exciting. The use of this technology could not only optimize the target group approach, but also make the company's internal processes more efficient. A clear indication that the industry is ready to break new ground.
As part of the forum, twelve tourist businesses were also honored for their commitment to quality. Those honored included four companies that have the “i-brand” (a quality seal from the German Tourism Association), seven companies that work with the Family Holiday (QMF) quality management system, and three companies with the “Angelurlaub MV – tested quality” seal. Three other companies were also recognized for their achievements under the “Travel for All” labeling system.
A new hotspot for tourism
The Schlosshotel Neustrelitz, which only opened in July 2025, played a crucial role as an event location. The hotel's manager, Manja Westermann, emphasized the importance of the forum for networking in her remarks. The hotel has set itself the goal of becoming a flagship for quality and regionality through a diverse offering and year-round entertainment.
The “1000Seen Forum” has established itself as a permanent platform for tourist exchange in the region and offers hope for a promising future for tourism in the Mecklenburg Lake District. We work together on the vision that the region remains an attractive travel destination at all times of the year and that the economy and nature can develop in harmony.
