How Strelitzius reports, Prenzlauer Strasse in the area of the town hall will be completely closed from Monday, October 20th to Friday, October 24th. This measure is part of extensive maintenance and repair work that is necessary to bring the community's infrastructure into shape.
Of course, such a blockage brings with it inconveniences. Drivers who want to get to the parking spaces at the town hall or at the supermarket from the direction of Bahnhofsstrasse should be aware that these can only be reached from the direction of Wittenhagen. In order to minimize the effects of the closure, a large diversion via the B 198 and the district road MSE 97 (Bredenfelde, Lichtenberg) will be set up and clearly signposted. These measures are a joint effort by the municipality of Feldberger Seenlandschaft and the Neustrelitz street tree company, with which Strabag AG was commissioned to carry out the work.
Traffic chaos in the surrounding area
But there are traffic problems not only in Feldberg. Drivers in Pankow also have to expect significant disruption. Loud Berlin newspaper Prenzlauer Allee and Schönhauser Allee are closed. These closures are caused by construction work in the Bornholmer Straße/Wisbyer Straße intersection area. Drivers have to plan more time here and prepare for alternative routes. Greifswalder Straße in particular represents a diversion option for commuters.
The construction work in Pankow will last until August, and there may even be extensions. This shows how important a clear and transparent traffic sign plan is to avoid traffic jams and further complications. The plans are submitted to the relevant road traffic authorities and are valid for the entire republic.

There are many alternatives to avoid traffic jams: drive via Gesundbrunnen to Mitte or use the side streets in Prenzlauer Berg to get to your destination. The Pappelallee is also a useful access route to the Eberswalder Straße subway station.
