Legend Heiko März returns: Exciting election for Hansa's supervisory board!
FC Hansa Rostock is facing an important decision: On November 23, 2025, the club members will vote on the composition of the new supervisory board. Among the 16 candidates named by the election committee, one club legend stands out: Heiko März. The Rostock native made an impressive 345 appearances for the club from 1977 to 1998 and also played in the Bundesliga.
Heiko März, now 60 years old, not only brings his sporting experience, but also has a background in club marketing. His goal is to play an active role in shaping the supervisory board in the future. Not only the fans, but also the club management will be looking forward to the election, which will be accompanied by a special commitment from the active fan scene and the ultras. Last but not least, they worked hard to select the candidates who will determine the fate of the club in the coming years.
The election committee and the candidates
A total of 16 candidates are running, including the current members of the Supervisory Board, all of whom are up for re-election. The team is led by Sebastian Eggert, the 44-year-old CEO, who is also applying for a term again. Other candidates include Mario Hänsel (deputy), Anne Schäfer (second deputy) as well as Jean Diews, Sven Moschner and Martin Ohde. The list of new claims is supplemented by Horst Podßun, Christoph Bauch, Ulf Bodenstein, Christoph Hamann, Marko Porm, Christoph Völz, Toni Brüggert and René Schumacher.
On October 29th, all candidates will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the members in the Ostseestadion. This will be a crucial opportunity to hear directly the candidates' vision and ideas and get an idea of their vision for the association.
Culture and success in football
The upcoming elections are not only an example of sporting commitment, but also take a look at the culture in football. Dr. Christian Lang, an expert in leadership in sports, notes how important it is for a club to maintain clear values and a good culture. Successful clubs thrive on a strong hierarchy and a clear division of roles. Specialists are needed for specific tasks, while the trainer can concentrate primarily on leading his team.
Lang emphasizes that too many different opinions and influences, for example from sponsors or loud fans, can harm the club. The upcoming election process could therefore set an important course for the future stability and success of Hansa Rostock. The excellent training and support for sports leaders could also play a role in the club's future development.
A balance between sporting and financial success is crucial for revenue and long-term sustainability. This is the only way Hansa Rostock can stay on the road to success, not only sportingly but also economically.
The members need a good decision and a good hand on November 23rd when they elect the future leaders. There is a lot to be said for this choice, which could not only shape the next few years of the club, but also the future culture and sporting success for Hansa Rostock.
