The BSC 95 Schwerin is currently on everyone's lips in the badminton scene. On the second match day in the national league, the club was able to record two wins, thus underpinning its leading position in the table. With a current score of 8-0, the team remains undefeated. As the Schweriner Volkszeitung reported, the BSC prevailed against PSV Rostock and SV Motor Süd Neubrandenburg, with the encounter against Neubrandenburg being rated 7-1 after a corrective decision.
The start of the season was impressive: Last week, Schwerin celebrated a 5:3 win against BSV Unit Greifswald and an impressive 6:2 victory over GSV 98. Team captain Dettmann was more than satisfied with the performances of his teammates and emphasized that Schwerin is the favorite for the 2025/2026 season. With talents like Roman Pokrasen, Christian Pril, Bruno Seichter, Hermine Kunz and Lara Dethloff, the team has a really good hand.
Young talent shines at state championships
But it's not just the adults who show strong performances; The BSC’s young athletes also win! As documented on the club's official website, 13 active participants and two coaches traveled to the state championship in Güstrow, where they competed in a top-class field. With a total of 87 starters from 11 clubs, the competition was tough. However, the BSC's balance sheet is impressive: 11 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals speak for themselves.
The achievements of the U19 players are particularly noteworthy: Chrissi secured the title in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Roman (U17) also prevailed in all disciplines and won the championship treble. The U13 athlete Charlotte Brüning fought her way into the mixed final, but had to admit defeat in the deciding set.
The competitions lasted over seven hours, and the organization of Güstrower SC 09 was flawless. Thanks not only to the organizers, but also to the other winners from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, who also made it into the medal ranks.
