On Friday evening, July 5, 2025, the Bartholomai Church in Demmin became the setting for an impressive concert of the Dresden Kreuzchor. In front of more than 520 curious listeners who had gathered in the almost sold -out church, the famous male choir presented a varied program. Before the break, sacred songs, followed by traditional German folk songs, who immediately created a good atmosphere. The audience was so enthusiastic that several encores were requested. The concert in Demmin was part of the summer tour of the Dresden Kreuzchores, which takes place from June 25th to July 6th, 2025. During this period, a total of 10 concerts in six German federal states and a detour to Switzerland are planned. The touring areas include cooperation concerts with the Wuppertaler Kurrende and appearances in the St. Blasien cathedral. The cross choir already inspired in Schwerin, where the concert took place in the sold -out Schwerin cathedral.

The musical pallet ranges from early baroque multi -choir to romantic song art. Works by classics such as Carl Maria von Weber, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Antonín Dvořák as well as artistic versions of traditional folk songs from well -known composers such as Friedrich Silcher, Heinrich Werner and Rudolf Mauersberger can be heard. Visitors from the surrounding cities such as Teterow, Malchin and Neubrandenburg came to enjoy the event. Among them were six women from Wernigerode who visited the concert during a “women's vacation” in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and were visibly enthusiastic. The cross choir, which is made up of 69 singers between the ages of 10 and 18, radiated a special community that went over the briskly.

With this tour, the Dresden Kreuzchor not only celebrates one season end, but also sets a sign of preserving a valuable cultural asset: choral music that survives generations. While the last tones of the concert felled, it became clear that the evening in Demmin was not only a musical but also a joint festival that will continue to sound in the heart of the listener.
