Family celebration at Lake Sternberger: A day full of fun and joy!
On Sunday morning, June 30, 2025, the eagerly awaited family festival took place at Lake Sternberger. After the event was originally planned for June 1st but was canceled, hundreds of visitors were happy about the rescheduled celebration. In the middle of everything, city manager Kathrin Brüning reported on a huge rush at the festival, which was opened promptly at 10 a.m. by deputy mayor Olaf Steinberg. Despite the initially gloomy sky, the sun came out several times, which further brightened the mood among those present.
The large crowd attracted many families in particular, who were able to enjoy a colorful program. The bouncy castles, which proved to be a magnet for the children, were particularly popular. Olaf Steinberg caused amusement by allowing the audience to vote on the make-up color of his flamingo costume using an “applause-o-meter”. The acro girls and the Feuersternchen group also provided entertainment, captivating the audience with their dance and acrobatics. Clown Bandi thrilled the little guests with his balloon creatures and lively music.
Something for everyone
The children could also let off steam on a chain carousel, while pony rides were offered for a small donation of 2 euros. The Sternberg Volunteer Fire Department organized an exciting program with water games where the children could try out extinguishing fires. A special highlight was the opportunity to ride in a real fire engine. Exciting activities such as throwing rings, playing football and an obstacle course awaited visitors on the sports field.
A wheel of fortune offered the chance to win big, such as a Lego set. Physical well-being was also taken care of: bratwurst and refreshing strawberry punch were offered throughout the event. “Despite the postponement, the festival was a great success,” said both Steinberg and Brüning, emphasizing the role of the numerous volunteers who made a significant contribution to this success.
A look at other events in the nature park
The family festival was just one of many activities on the program in the Sternberger Seenland Nature Park. For example, there is a fruit-cutting seminar that took place on March 22nd and various guided hikes that lead through the picturesque landscape. On May 1st, a bird song excursion is offered, which is particularly popular with nature lovers. Canoe tours and exciting market events also round off the diverse range of leisure activities on offer. Details about these events can be found on the nature park website naturpark-sternberger-seenland.de.
Families looking for suitable events can also go to familienausflug.info, where numerous events can be filtered according to individual wishes. The platform has a wide reach and helps to find interesting events for every taste.
