Start swimming early
But when should children actually learn to swim? According to the experts at the Schwerin water rescue service, children can start learning to swim from the age of 5. However, the right time can vary depending on the child's development. The prerequisites that are important for the success of the course include handling water, a certain level of coordination and the ability to separate from parents for an hour. If you have health restrictions, we recommend a medical certificate confirming participation, such as this Schwerin water rescue service explained.
Getting used to water is another important step. Children should be exposed to water at an early age to prevent fear later on. The DLRG recommends using playful forms such as baby swimming courses or bathing sessions with friends to get the little ones used to the element of water.
Overall, swimming training is provided in the region. Swimming lessons are not only a great way to learn to swim, but also a wonderful way to have fun and make new friends during the hot summer months. Registration is easy on site or by phone, so taking part in one of these popular courses is just a phone call away!
