The anticipation for the open-air summer film festival “Kino unterm Himmel” in Schwerin is growing and will transform the garden of the Kulturforum Schleswig-Holstein-Haus into a cinematic oasis from August 19th to 23rd. This year, the popular event is celebrating two anniversaries: the 10th edition of the film festival and the 30th anniversary of the cultural forum itself. There's something coming up!
The opening evening on Tuesday, August 19th will begin with a musical highlight from the region. The band “Kutterscholle mit Speckstippe”, led by the Schwerin actors Raphael Käding and Robert Höller, ensures a lively start. Afterwards, the first film “Kings of Summer” will flash on the screen at 8:30 p.m. and admission begins at 7:00 p.m.
A varied film program
The range of exciting films ensures that there is something for every taste. In addition to “Kings of Summer”, visitors can expect:

- 21. August: „Der phönizische Meisterstreich“
- 22. August: „Monsieur Aznavour“
- 23. August: „Wunderschön“, ein deutscher Film mit Karoline Herfurth
Before each main film, an award-winning short film from the FiSH Film Festival Rostock competition will be presented. This additional highlight promises an entertaining evening and is a real treat for film lovers.

For an entrance fee of 11 euros you have the opportunity to experience a piece of film history in the open air. Pre-sales start online on August 1st kino-unterm-himmel.de started, with 300 places already sold in advance. For anyone who would like to come along spontaneously, there are still remaining tickets available at the box office at Puschkinstrasse 12.
The festival is particularly popular with Schwerin residents, which also supports the organizers' recommendation to secure tickets early. Physical well-being is also taken care of: restaurateur Stephanie Baak from Rauchhaus Möllin will offer regional specialties and drinks.
