Malchower SV 90: Successful farewell and fairness triumph despite defeat!
Last weekend was full of emotions for the fans of Malchower SV 90. In a thrilling home game in the association football league, the team was defeated 2-3 by FC Mecklenburg Schwerin. Although the result did not bring the desired victory, it was an important day for the club: Philipp Mellmann, a cornerstone of the team, played his last game and is now moving to FC Schönberg.
However, one special award made the day special: Malchower SV 90 was recognized for its fairness in the association league. This honor was announced in front of 247 spectators by stadium announcer Dietmar Puls, and head coach Sven Lange was proud of the award, which will be presented at the beginning of next season.
An exciting match
The game itself provided spectators with a roller coaster ride of emotions. FC Mecklenburg Schwerin took the lead in the 7th minute through Tino Witkowski before Mohammad Massih Soltani increased the score to 0-2 for the guests in the 17th minute. But the Malchowers didn't give up. Matthis Buchholz scored the 1-2 goal in the 21st minute after a corner from Ron Kringel.
In the second half, Ben Grotian equalized to 2-2 in the 51st minute, also after a corner from Buchholz. It seemed as if Malchower could turn the game around, but a deflected shot from Witkowski in the 80th minute ultimately decided the game in Schwerin's favor. However, coach Sven Lange found positive words for his team's overall performance despite the defeat.
The farewell to Mellmann and Gerd Severin
Before kick-off, not only Mellmann, but also Jan-Niklas Groth and Patryk Adamski were bid farewell. In addition, Gerd Severin, a long-time official of Malchower SV 90, retired. A real change for the club, which is leaving an era behind with these departures.
The Malchower SV 90 competed in the following formation: Niclas Kühn, Max Buchholz, Hannes Rath, Phillip Mellmann, Ben Grotian, Kevin-Raik Gerullis, Niklas Kern, Ron Kringel, Luca Frehse, Matthis Buchholz and Lukas Prange.
In summary, despite the defeat, there was a good spirit. Even if first place in the fairness ranking is a consolation prize after such an exciting afternoon of football, there is still reason for hope for the coming games. Club members and fans can rest assured: Malchower SV 90 has what it takes to assert itself again next season.
