Defeat for Aachen: Ladies in Black lose to Schwerin 1:3!
On October 25, 2025, the fans of the Ladies in Black Aachen experienced an exciting but unfortunately also disappointing evening. In their last home game of the main round of the 2024/25 season they were defeated by SSC Palmberg Schwerin 1:3. The league leaders showed their class and further consolidated their place in the top group of the Bundesliga with this victory.
The score at the end was 25:20, 25:21, 20:25 and 25:23. The SSC started the first set with a deficit of 1:4, but managed to dominate the game result from the score of 12:12. The final 7-0 series that secured Schwerin the first set was remarkable. The Ladies in Black initially lagged behind in the second set, but were unable to catch up with a deficit of 17:18 and ultimately lost the set after Schwerin pulled away to 21:18.
One last gasp
Head coach Mareike Hindriksen had already described Schwerin as favorites before the game. The team is not only known for its first-class players, such as the 17-year-old talent Leana Grozer, the Dutch diagonal attacker Elles Dambrink and the best libera in the league, Patricia Llabres Herrera. The game's great appeal also caused a huge rush for advance ticket sales, with only a few tickets left. The event took place in the Neuköllner Straße hall in Aachen and was actively followed online by fans. The game broadcast was also available live on the dyn.sport platform. With this result, the ladies in Black Aachen don't seem to be able to end the season quite as impressively as the fans had hoped. Nevertheless, it is important to look to the future with optimism. Pre-sales for playoff tickets have already begun and season ticket holders will have the right of first refusal until March 20th. The team members and the supporters can look forward to the next games and hope that they can come back with a good hand on the pitch and excellent performances.
