The weekend from July 18th to 20th, 2025 promises to be a feast for the senses in Schwerin. The popular one Schwerin gourmet garden opens its doors again in the picturesque castle gardens and invites you to experience the culinary and musical highlights of our region. Under the motto “This is what MV tastes like” and in the special atmosphere of the historic pavilion, visitors can enjoy regional delicacies and listen to music at the same time.
The program is colorful and varied. On Friday, July 18th, the gourmet garden will be ceremoniously opened at 4 p.m. Live music is an integral part of the evening: the bagpipe player Kian Johnsten provides a musical atmosphere from 5 p.m., followed by a whiskey tasting at 5:30 p.m. From 7 p.m., the well-known jazz musician Andreas Pasternack will entertain the guests while the anticipation of the culinary season unfolds. As usual, entry remains free and promises fun for young and old.
A celebration for the family
Saturday is all about family and fun. This invites you to do that RosaHerz Kids Tower Festival, which begins at 10 a.m. at the television tower. In addition to an exciting creative program, barefoot trails and workshops with Pascal “Qualle” Martin, music will put you in a good mood. In addition, the “TV Tower Open Air” takes place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., where a late-night flea market and live music await visitors.
There is also a summer festival organized by the German Red Cross in the Kalkwerder outdoor swimming pool. Here too there will be a colorful program with many attractions. In the evening we can look forward to another musical highlight: The British band “Mesh” will be performing at Club Zenit, promising a fantastic start to the night.
Culinary highlights at the end
On Sunday, July 20th, the gourmet garden continues with a bicycle concert by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. there are numerous stages in the city to delight with jazz, classical and musical comedy. The gourmet garden will also end with a musical morning pint and a public cooking show. Visitors can look forward to the performances of the Schwerin men's choir “Die Terzbuben”, which will further enrich the ambience.
The Event promises a colorful mix of culinary delights and entertainment. From traditional dishes to innovative dishes, local manufacturers and restaurants offer a wide selection. With over ten exhibitors, including the gourmet factory, the “ars vivendi” restaurant and regional wineries, everyone is sure to get their money’s worth when it comes to culinary delights.
With a varied program and free entry, the gourmet garden is not only a place for gourmets, but also a hit for families and music lovers.
