Sunny weekend: flea market, bathtub regatta and more in Schwerin!

The last weekend of July is just around the corner, and while the weather has settled into autumn, optimism is calling for sunshine in the region around Schwerin. Numerous events promise a colorful program for young and old.

There will be music in Vorbeck on July 25th at 7:30 p.m. Under the title “Family Ties”, the village church presents works by Bach, Hertel, Hotteterre and Graun. Renate Burk-Färber (violin), Silke Thomas-Drabon (transverse flute, musette) and Uta Wendorf (harpsichord) invite you to an atmospheric evening where admission is free, but donations are warmly welcome. After the concert there is a glass of wine with a view of the picturesque Mecklenburg landscape - a real highlight!

Action and fun in Banzkow and Demen

On July 26th there will be real celebrations in Banzkow! The bathtub regatta starts at 2 p.m. on the Stör. Here, adventurous participants can paddle using bathtubs and stand-up paddle boards. For the little guests there will be a children's party on the sports field from 10 a.m.: crafts, face painting, competitions, a bouncy castle and an XXL sandpit await the young visitors.

In Demen there will be a flea market on the same day in the Evita Forum, which will be open on both days, July 26th and 27th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Second and third-hand treasures are on offer here, and anyone with a good knack for bargains is sure to find what they are looking for.

Education and culture in Görslow and Crivitz

For those who are thirsty for knowledge, there will be a lecture at the Federal Archives - Stasi Documents Archive in Görslow on July 26th at 2:30 p.m. Historian Florian Schikowski examines the GDR from the perspective of the Stasi. Topics such as supply shortages, environmental problems, surveillance and dissatisfaction are covered. Afterwards you have the opportunity to visit the archive and take a look at your own Stasi files, for which an identity card is required.

But history is not neglected either: in Crivitz, those interested can take part in a historical city walk with city guide Andreas Rüß on July 26th at 5 p.m. No prior registration is necessary - the meeting point is at the community center.

Art and entertainment in Pinnow and Kothendorf

The last exhibition in the summer gallery of the Goderner Kreis Art Association awaits you in Pinnow this weekend, and is open on both days from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Art lovers shouldn't miss this event!

For theater fans young and old, there will be the “Kriedefix” marionette theater on July 26th at 3 p.m. in the Hofwiesecafé in Kothendorf. The fairy tale of Rumpelstiltskin is performed here and promises entertainment for the whole family.

Whether music, fun or education – the weekend around Schwerin has something in store for everyone. And as the saying goes: Something's up! So if you don't have any plans yet, you should quickly get going and attend one or two events. Further information about events around Crivitz can be found on the website Official Crivitz to find.
