On Friday, July 18, 2025, a very special highlight awaits music lovers in Schwerin: The band Railers will perform in the inner courtyard of the conservatory at 7 p.m. This concert is part of the popular “Kon-Tacte 2025” series, which is intended to offer a relaxed musical end to the week. The venue, Puschkinstrasse 6, will once again be the setting for varied musical experiences that will captivate visitors.

The Railers, founded in 2017 by the talented guitarist Matthias Baldwin, bring the spirit of 20th century southern music to Schwerin with their sounds. The other band members include Friedrich Bassarak, who not only plays the accordion, but also contributes vocals and teaches at the conservatory. Christoph Klan provides special tonal accents with clarinet and banjo, while Johannes Hanekamp provides the rhythmic underpinnings on double bass.

The band's first album, "Tales from the Rails", was released in summer 2019 and showcases the band's musical diversity and influences. The group has also produced the “Railroad Session” video series, which provides insight into their musical inspirations.
