The anticipation of the contemplative Christmas season is growing, and the Christmas lottery “A fiver for young people” is entering its twelfth round. This fine campaign, which is organized by the Lions Club Müritz and the Rotary Club Waren/Müritz, has already become a tradition and is very popular. The proceeds from this lottery flow into valuable projects for children and young people in the region, which distributed over 353,000 euros to 115 different projects last year.

The new projects that will benefit from this year's lottery are as diverse as they are important. Those supported include the “Young Morizan Meal,” where fourth-graders are given an example of good manners in restaurants. The summer camp of the SKV Müritz e. V. for around 200 children is supported, as well as a ceramics course at the Friedrich Dethloff School in Waren. A special highlight is the new calendar motif, which was designed by a talented fourth grade student at the Peeneschule Groß Gievitz.
