That means September 5, 2025 Helios Clinic Stralsund welcome its new trainees. The introductory weeks have begun and, for the first time, 61 young people were invited to the diverse training offerings. This is a record number and an increase of 11 trainees compared to last year, showing that the healthcare sector remains exciting and attractive.

Around 300 applications were received and the majority of the new trainees – 41 – are being trained in the nursing field. In addition to nursing, training is also offered in physiotherapy, medical assistants and midwifery. The number of interested people speaks for the great interest in a profession that is extremely important to society.

Diversity of training areas

The decision to begin training as a nursing specialist opens up many perspectives. The Training to become a nursing specialist not only offers insights into the care and support of patients, but also into the implementation of medical orders and the documentation of patient data. This practice-oriented training, which began on September 1st, lasts three years and takes place at various institutions.

Helios Hanseklinikum Stralsund, as the largest company in the region, also has numerous advantages to offer: attractive training remuneration, flat hierarchies and even a guarantee of employment after successful completion. For potential applicants, contact with experienced practical instructors and access to over 6,000 training offers through the Helios Academy are also highlighted.

The path to becoming a nursing specialist

Training to become a nursing specialist has been offered since the reform of the Nursing Professions Reform Act in 2017, whereby the previously separate professions from health care and nursing to geriatric care and pediatric nursing were combined into a uniform training occupation. In recent years, more and more people have taken up this training. According to one report In 2022, around 52,100 new training contracts were concluded. What is particularly noteworthy is that 74% of these contracts were signed by women, which underlines the high proportion of women in nursing.

Nursing training combines theory and practice and promotes qualifications at a high level. It takes place not only in nursing schools, but also directly in healthcare facilities - a decisive advantage for everyone taking part in the training.

Whether as a nurse, physiotherapist or in other healthcare professions – the new trainees at Helios Klinikum Stralsund are well prepared for their future. Together they work to ensure the care of patients in the region and thus make an important contribution to the health of society.
