65-year-old gives new shine to Stralsund Stadium – helpers wanted!”
A very special project is causing a stir in Stralsund: Mario Kramm, a 65-year-old passionate football fan, has decided to renew around 100 meters of the old fence at the stadium on Frankendamm. The creative mind behind this project has been living in the Hanseatic city for several years and would like to give something back to the community with his campaign. Kramm has been working diligently on the fence since May to make it shine in new splendor in time for the upcoming 165th anniversary celebrations of TSV Stralsund 1860 e.V. This is reported by the Northern Courier.
For Kramm, the process is anything but trivial. Before the brushes can be used, the old paint must be removed. To do this, he uses spatula and sandpaper to carefully prepare the metal surface. He receives active support from groundskeeper Carsten Schmidt. The city administration of Stralsund is also cooperative and provides both tools and the Stralsund red paint. The starting signal for the colorful refreshment will be given on June 19th at 4 p.m., and all helpers are warmly welcomed at the entrance gate of the Friendship Stadium.
History of TSV 1860 Stralsund
The TSV 1860 Stralsund is an institution in the region and was founded on August 17, 1860 as a men's gymnastics club. With over 160 years of tradition, the club is the second oldest gymnastics and sports club in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, only surpassed by TSV 1814 Friedland e.V. The TSV has constantly developed over the years and today offers nine departments with a wide range of sports opportunities. The aim of the association is to teach social skills, group cohesion and consideration, especially to children and young people.
After the difficult times during National Socialism and the division of Germany in the 20th century, the club found its way back to its roots after the fall of the Wall in 1989/90 and continued traditions that were over a century old. On the club's website You can find further information about his commitment and the various offers he has in store for citizens.
A community project with heart
Mario Kramm's commitment to the fence is more than just a paint touch-up; it is a sign of solidarity with the city and its traditional club. In times when community and collaboration are highly valued, Kramm sets an example of how one can actively contribute to the common good. The renewal of the fence will add a special shine during the TSV anniversary celebrations and enhance the sporting home of Stralsund.
The fence will not only delight players and visitors when visiting the stadium, but will also help strengthen the city's sense of community and identity. Anyone who has the time and desire is invited to stop by on June 19th and support Kramm in his creative work. A lot is important to the city of Stralsund, and with such actions it will become a place that will continue to connect and inspire people in the future.
