On Sunday, October 5th, Stralsund will celebrate its popular Thanksgiving festival again. The festival begins at 10:00 a.m. with a solemn Thanksgiving service in St. Nikolai Church, before the Thanksgiving market opens at 11:30 a.m. on the market square in front of the town hall. The event offers a great range of fresh products and regional specialties that invite visitors to browse and enjoy. The city of Stralsund is particularly pleased to be able to offer something to younger guests too: there are a variety of hands-on activities around the topic of harvest and nature.
New this year is an exciting panel discussion that will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the St. Nikolai Church. Here participants have the opportunity to discuss local supplies with representatives from agriculture, trade and politics. The topic “How regional food strengthens our community” will shed light on the opportunities and challenges of regional value creation and explore the question of how local structures can contribute to security of supply and community life.
