Competitions and regional talent

Preparations for this big event began early in the year, with the regional competition “Jugend musiziert”, which took place on January 18, 2025 and attracted 59 music students from Western Pomerania. It is interesting to note that the number of participants has decreased slightly compared to previous years, which Carsten Witt from the Greifswald Music School addresses. Nevertheless, around 300 aspiring musicians take part in these competitions across the country, all between the ages of 5 and 20. The instruments range from violin to piano, and there is also a singing category.

The young talents in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have the chance to work their way up through the various competition levels up to the national competition, which is a great satisfaction for many of their parents and teachers. It is clear that musical support in the region has a high priority and the upcoming events such as the state award winners' concert contribute a lot to the visibility and motivation of the young musiciansNDR reports...
