Hansa Rostock conjures up a win in the friendly against Wismar – 3:2 after drama!
There was a lot going on in Wismar on June 28, 2025, as Hansa Rostock played against FC Anker Wismar in the second pre-season test match. In front of 1,850 spectators, coach Pistorius' team showed that they were slowly picking themselves up after the first week of preparation, even if the signs of stress were visible. Hansa won the exciting duel 3:2.
The start of the game could hardly have gone better. Andreas Voglsammer converted a penalty in the 8th minute and gave Rostock a 1-0 lead after Ryan Naderi was fouled in the penalty area. But the people of Wismar didn't take long to ask and reacted promptly. Jonas Hurtig equalized just nine minutes later with a deflected long-range shot. This back and forth continued because shortly before half time Paul Stock made it 2-1 for Hansa.
Emotional rollercoaster before halftime
But anyone who thought that would be the end of the first half was proven wrong. In stoppage time, more precisely in the 45th + 2 minute, Pascal Breier equalized for Anker Wismar. What was convincing was the liveliness of the Wismar team, who often acted with dangerous counterattacks and caused the Rostock defense some nervous problems.
After the break, Hansa changed the entire team except for the goalkeeper Philipp Klewin. In the 57th minute, Cedric Harenbrock showed his class and scored the decisive 3-2 for Rostock. Despite numerous chances that Rostock later missed - including opportunities for Harenbrock, David Hummel and Felix Ruschke - the result remained until the end. Nico Billep had a chance to equalize in the 77th minute, but failed.
A test game in a social setting
At the same time, the “24/7 fundraising run” also took place in the city, in which FC Hansa contributed a donation of 500 euros. This sum corresponds to a total of 1,000 laps of the stadium, which are supported by companies and private individuals. The proceeds from the campaign benefit sick and disadvantaged children in Wismar and Schwerin. The fundraising campaign runs until July 12, 2024 and shows the club's social commitment beyond sport.
The next test match for Hansa Rostock is scheduled for July 5th against Greifswalder FC. It will be interesting to see what progress the players will make by then. Hansa's line-up remained the same in the first half: Klewin - Pfanne, Reichardt, Wallner (injured, 37th Gürleyen) - Bock, Schuster, Fatkic, Krauß - Stock, Voglsammer, Naderi. In the second half the team played with: Klewin – Gebuhr, Carstens, Gürleyen – Mejdr, Dietze, Harenbrock, Ruschke – Krohn, Kinsombi – Hummel.
Overall, it was a thrilling game full of emotions and a successful test match for Hansa Rostock, which combined both sporting and social dimensions in a funny way.
