Blaye-Les-Mines celebrates music and encounters – be there!

On June 17, 2025, an exciting event is approaching for the citizens of Blaye-Les-Mines: the Fête de la musique, also known as Musician's Day, will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, from 7 p.m. at the Endrevié site. This annual music celebration, which originated in Paris in 1982, brings people together to make and enjoy music outdoors without paying any entrance fees. The slogan “Faites de la musique” (“Make Music”) encourages everyone to pick up their instruments and actively participate. The celebration now takes place in over 120 countries and creates a good mood and a sense of community around the world. Wikipedia reports that free concerts are organized in many cities and musicians perform for free.

Musicians' Day comes at an exciting time for the community, with further events on the agenda. On Sunday, June 22nd, there will be a Vide grenier of the Restos du Cœur, which will take place in the ZA la Tronquié, Chemin des Mineurs. The proceeds from the flea market will be used to support the Restos du Tarn, which is committed to combating poverty and social exclusion. The Restos du Cœur were founded in 1985 and operate throughout France with over 65 mobile centers. Restos du Cœur is committed to reaching isolated people and supporting families in need, such as single mother Mariette, who was able to overcome a difficult phase with her support.

Celebration of the nation

Another major event that residents can look forward to is the Fête Nationale on Friday, July 11th. This festival will again take place on the grounds of Endrevié. Concerts, bands and impressive fireworks are presented here. Such events promote a sense of belonging and bring citizens together in a unique way.

There are also public meetings on the calendar in September. On September 8th at 6 p.m. in the Salle Guy Pierre Fabre and on September 9th at 6 p.m. in the Salle Les Pilotis, Mayor Jean-François Kowalik and the local council will inform citizens about current issues. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to discuss issues as a community and to talk to each other.

Music and remembrance

Another highlight is approaching: On November 29th there will be a free concert in honor of the late artist Daniel Balavoine. The musician, who died in 1996, is still remembered today and is honored in the Salle Daniel Balavoine in Endrevié. Particular emphasis is placed on priority registration for the Blayaises and Blayais.

For senior citizens there is also a Plan Canicule, which offers people who are not on the list in the municipality the opportunity to register through a registration form available in the latest municipal bulletin. For further information, contact the ASAD and ADMR, who provide home care services in Blaye.

Overall, Blaye-Les-Mines, with its variety of events, strengthens the local community and provides entertainment, while at the same time bringing social concerns into focus. Don't miss the upcoming festivals and be part of this lively and active city!
