Annual exhibition in Celle: Masterpieces in black and white conquer the old parade hall!
Yesterday the 56th annual exhibition of the Celle Amateur Painting Circle (AMC) opened in the old exercise hall. As a special highlight of the vernissage, Norbert Hentschel presented his impressive drawing “Sky Striker”, which conveys a dreary atmosphere with just a few lines and surfaces. In this image, a little boy is swinging on a swing - an image that makes you think. Hentschel implemented this year's motto “Black and White” with a total of five drawings and at the same time took on the challenges of the topic.
The opening was well attended; There were hardly enough chairs, which shows the great enthusiasm of the visitors. Chairman Alwin Gröschner opened the event with introductory words and the musical duo Sarah Fischer & Volker Mertins, who harmoniously underlined the atmosphere. A total of 140 works of art can be seen in this exciting exhibition, which uses the Petersburg hanging to optimally showcase the diversity of the presentations.
Creative growth and colorful diversity
In his speech, Gröschner emphasized the importance of the creative process and learning from each other. Every year the amateur painting group chooses a motto that represents a challenge for the members. The black and white theme, which is considered particularly challenging, is intended to encourage creative growth. Nevertheless, members are also allowed to present works outside of the motto. This results in a colorful palette of exhibits, ranging from floral motifs and heathland landscapes to fascinating portraits and abstract art.
The annual exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August 3, and entry is free. This not only showcases Celle's creativity, but also the framework for diverse cultural coexistence. A visit is also worthwhile for art enthusiasts from outside the area. For further information, details can be found on the website cellerkultursommer.de.
