Robber Captain Hotzenplotz once again delights the little spectators in Delmenhorst!

The Lauenburg Puppet Theater is once again a guest in Delmenhorst and delights audiences young and old with the play “Latest Adventure of Robber Captain Hotzenplotz”. From October 9th to 19th, the puppet show will be performed in a tent with 300 seats on the Bürgerwiese. The theater's charm lies in its traditional craftsmanship: the puppets, which have been in the family for over 80 years, are redesigned every two years. Theater director Jasmin Lauenburger, who runs the company together with her brother David, expresses great anticipation of the return and is optimistic that the audience will have fond memories of the past visits.

In order to ensure economic operation, at least 70 guests are required per performance. Audiences can eagerly await performances beginning at 4 p.m. daily, with a special performance on October 19 at 11 a.m. Children will be actively involved in the interactive production and can look forward to participating in it themselves, while adults will also enjoy the stories. Tickets start at just nine euros and can be purchased at the theater box office 30 minutes before the performance.

Tradition meets interaction

The Lauenburg Puppet Theater has its roots going back to 1829 and began as a marionette theater. The traditional way of working has not changed over the decades. Even today, great emphasis is placed on the timeless production, which appeals to both children and adults. The art of puppetry fascinates young viewers and immerses them in imaginative stories, as experts know: Puppetry brings color and fun to the stage, promotes language development and ensures lively interactions between the characters and the audience.

The play “The Robber Hotzenplotz” has also caused a stir in other theater formats and received the Goethe-Institut Prize for its innovative implementation at the Impulse Theater Festival. The jury praised the production Showcase Beat Le Mot for the daring but captivating narrative style of the well-known children's book classic. Here, the story of the predatory Hotzenplotz, who steals coffee grinders, is made exciting with elements such as dance, singing and magic. The production encourages the children to participate without patronizing them and breaks down common clichés.

Puppet theater as an experience for young and old

Puppet theater is attracting more and more organizers, be it for special occasions such as birthday parties, Christmas markets or street festivals. More and more institutions are recognizing the value of such interactive and entertaining offers that offer both fun and educational elements. The possibility of booking mobile puppet theater, has established itself as an attractive option for daycare centers, schools and family celebrations. These offers not only ensure joy for the children, but also relaxing moments for the adults.

The puppet theater in Delmenhorst promises not only a return to tried and tested traditions, but also new, exciting experiences in the interplay of art and interaction. Don't miss the opportunity to be part of this lively spectacle!
