Langeooger youth fire department celebrates triumphant cup return from Emden!

A weekend full of great experiences and impressive successes - that's what the Langeoog youth fire brigade experienced at the district finals in the national competition of the East Frisian youth fire brigades in Emden. With their motto “Being there is everything,” the committed youth fire brigade members took part in the competition and returned home with three trophies and a lot of recognition Langeoog News reported.

The youngest teams from the Langeooger fire department competed against a total of 30 youth fire departments and scored an impressive 1,275 points. In their first major appearance they came in 21st place, which is quite respectable, especially since many team members have only been with the youth fire department for six months. The team won the challenge cup for the best performance in the Wittmund district and also the island cup for being the best island, which provided further reasons for the participants to be happy. Christian Jung, the contact person for the youth fire department, noted that the team had a lot of fun and that the hard work paid off.

The national competition – an important event

But what is actually behind the national competition? It is organized by the German youth fire brigade and aims to promote the technical part of the fire brigade within the youth fire brigade. The competition is not a stepping stone into active fire service, but rather offers young people the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and have a lot of fun at the same time. Part A includes a fire extinguishing exercise that must be carried out under realistic conditions and in accordance with applicable fire service regulations. The time for the exercise varies, as do the evaluation parameters, which, among other things, take into account the overall impression made by the judges. The B part is an exciting relay race that will also encourage evaluators and spectators. The successes of the Langeoog youth fire department are not only a sign of the excellent work that is being done in the background, but also a motivation for future competitions. The youth fire department offers a platform to promote team spirit and group dynamics and invites both girls and boys to become part of these exciting activities. The variety of competitions, ranging from sporting challenges to firefighting skills, ensures that there is always something exciting on the program.
