Cultural highlight in Hildesheim: Big festival with music and art on Sunday!

What a weekend in Hildesheim! From July 4th to 6th, 2025, the city will celebrate the “Hildesheimer Wallungen”, a major cultural festival that delights both locals and visitors. This weekend the city will be transformed into a vibrant stage for music, theater, literature and art, with many attractions for all ages. Sunday, July 6th, promises special highlights and activities with the “Quiet Night of Culture”.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be a lot of hustle and bustle between the Kehrwiederturm and Jo Beach. One of the attractive offerings is the “Concrete Blossoms” graffiti exhibition in the park, which is sure to attract attention. The pyramid building on the Innerstewiese and the creative market square in the HAWK also invite you to discover the artistic side of Hildesheim. The gallery sailor “Pirata Planena” is moored at Hohnsensee and will bring radiance and a special flair to many.

New activities and musical highlights

A real highlight are the new activities that bring a breath of fresh air to the festival. Acroyoga in the park from 11 a.m., guided walks with Hildesheim costume guides, a cyanotype workshop in Kunstraum 53 or a relaxed family picnic in the park: there is something for everyone here. Hildesheimer Allgemeine reports that there is also a lot on offer musically. From the acoustic band Grenzgänger, which delights both children and adults with their concerts, to classic rock with the Roosters, Bowie pieces from bowieboy and post punk from Hear Me Out - the stages are sure to get rocking.

Anyone interested in theater should definitely not miss the play “Feathers And Greed”. Physical well-being is also taken care of and the weather forecast suggests temperatures of up to 23 degrees, although some rain is expected in the afternoon. We therefore recommend traveling by bike or public transport. There will be a car service for people with disabilities and barrier scouts on site so everyone can enjoy the festivities.

Digital programming

To everyone who would like to put together their own personal festival program: The offer is easily available digitally. Under wallungen.aikata.de you can find all information about acts, show times and venues. Access is free and does not require a download; everything can be accessed directly in the browser. There is also a site map with a stage overview at the entrance so that you are ready for the festivities.

The cultural diversity of the city of Hildesheim is particularly worth mentioning, with its sights such as the Gothic civil church of St. Andreas, the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral and the picturesque old town. A stroll through the market square with its half-timbered houses is more than recommended. If you've had enough of the festival business, you can find relaxation in the city's charming alleys and governor ruins. Hildesheim Tourism explains that the street art district and the observatory in the Yellow Tower are also exciting places to go.

On to the “Quiet Night of Culture” and the Hildesheim waves! Don't miss the opportunity to experience this diversity in the same city. Be good at choosing your festival highlights and have fun!
