The focus of the investigation is primarily on the 16-year-old who is said to have robbed a gas station on Berliner Straße on September 2, 2025. Using a knife, he stole a mid-three-figure sum. The perpetrator was subsequently identified using DNA traces and surveillance camera recordings. This solid evidence led to the arrest of the teenager and his accomplice, the 14-year-old.
Further attacks in Hildesheim
The criminal careers of the two young people show a worrying pattern. Just two days after the gas station robbery, the 16-year-old, together with the 14-year-old and another 14-year-old, are said to have committed attempted aggravated blackmail. In this incident, a 16-year-old was not only beaten, but also forced to hand over money with a knife. When the victim did not respond to the threat, he was further attacked.
Another incident occurred on September 27, 2025. On that day, the two young people, along with two other 16-year-olds, surrounded a 14-year-old in Drispenstedt, stole his headphones and beat him. Fortunately, the victim was able to escape, which saved his physical integrity.
Judicial proceedings and detention order
The public prosecutor's office decided to submit applications for pre-trial detention due to the risk of repeat offenses. These requests were accepted by the responsible court, which led to the arrest and subsequent admission to a youth center, where the young people were brought before a judge.
The incidents shed a worrying light on youth crime in the region. The authorities hope that the detention order will bring about a significant change in behavior and want to send a signal that such attacks will not be tolerated.
