On the night of Friday to Saturday there was a brutal and shocking incident in Handorf, in the Lüneburg district. A 27-year-old man is said to have seriously injured his 41-year-old friend by stabbing him in the neck area. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the victim's apartment, where there were other people. They were able to barricade themselves in a room with the injured person and alert the police. Fortunately, the police were able to arrest the fleeing suspect in the area that night.
The 41-year-old was immediately taken to a hospital, where emergency surgery saved him. However, according to current information, his life was no longer in acute danger on Sunday, which can be seen as a happy turn in this dark story. The 27-year-old was brought before a judge at the Soltau district court, who issued an arrest warrant against him for attempted murder. Interestingly, the two men already knew each other and had already had police experience in the past, as NDR reports.

The police searched several apartments in the area around the people involved in order to find out more about the background and motives of the attack. The exact cause of the violence remains unclear and the police have not commented on it for the time being.
