On Saturday, July 5th, there was a tragic traffic accident on the A33 towards Osnabrück, which resulted in both injuries and the loss of a small life. According to a report by TheWest The accident was caused at 6:14 p.m. when a Peugeot with five passengers entered the motorway at the Stukenbrock-Senne junction. The driver of the Peugeot moved from the right to the left lane and overlooked an Opel, which led to a serious collision.

Those involved in the accident carried out the autopsy for the Opel with a 24-year-old driver from Borgentreich and a VW Crafter, whose 48-year-old driver from Bad Salzuflen was uninjured. Only the driver of the Peugeot was slightly injured, while his 26-year-old passenger was seriously injured. The fate of a two-year-old girl who was critically injured in the accident and succumbed to her injuries in hospital a short time later is tragic. A total of four people from the Peugeot were injured, including a six-year-old child and two other two-year-old girls, one seriously and the other slightly injured.

The A33 had to be completely closed in the direction of Osnabrück to investigate the accident. Traffic was rerouted at the Stukenbrock-Senne junction.
