Handball mix tournament in Uelzen: A celebration of community and joy!
The TV Uelzen handball mix tournament created an exuberant atmosphere and exciting competitions in the HEG hall last weekend. Over 110 participants from regional clubs such as HV Lüneburg, SG Südkreis Clenze, TSV Nettelkamp and SG VfL Wittingen/Stöcken took part in this unique event. Six teams competed against each other as part of ten diverse teams, all in the spirit of shared fun and community.
The event, which began on October 25, 2025 at 9:30 a.m., took place with special rules. The games only lasted 12 minutes each and time penalties were imposed with boxing or cooking gloves. These relaxed and creative approaches not only put a smile on the participants' faces, but also made for entertaining and exciting games. Among the spectators was Matthias Gießmann, who traveled from Düsseldorf to experience the tournament live.
A strong sense of community
“It was like a big class reunion,” explained co-organizer Patrick Guderjahn after the tournament. The players also felt this feeling of connection, as Steffen Roost from SG Südkreis Clenze reported: “The respect among the players is great.” Organizationally, the event was a piece of cake for Frank Bogatsch, goalkeeper in the “MTG with Patrick” team, who praised the excellent organization and the great atmosphere.
- Gewinner: Team „New Venture Consulting“
- Finalgegner: „MTG mit Patrick“
- Dritter Platz: Team vom Unternehmen R&R Pauls
The participants competed in specially designed jerseys, which not only demonstrated the creativity but also the support of local sponsors. They were not only involved as jersey partners, but also played actively in various teams. The handball support association, which was only recently founded, is pleased about such a positive response.
A celebration for everyone
The tombola, supported by former TV Uelzen players such as Jens Häusler and the renowned THW Kiel, offered exciting prizes and attracted numerous visitors to the hall. A cocktail reception by the first women's team and the subsequent party night in a Uelzen restaurant rounded off the sociable event. “Everyone had a lot of fun despite the sporting challenges,” said a satisfied Dominik Sommerburg from the organization team, who thanked all the helpers and sponsors for their commitment.
With an event of this kind, TV Uelzen is highlighting the importance of handball in the region as well as the joy of playing sports together for young and old. With so much community spirit and joy in the game, the anticipation for the next tournament will certainly arise soon.
