On Friday evening, the Vechta Rasta Dome became the scene of a very special social event: the 2025 Entrepreneur Awards of the Oldenburger Münsterland Association were awarded. Around 400 guests celebrated the outstanding achievements of regional entrepreneurs. Moderated by Ludger Abeln, the event not only offered a platform for awards, but also an appealing supporting program, which was musically accompanied by the Lower Saxony Sound Orchestra.
A highlight of the evening was the awarding of the title “Entrepreneur of the Year 2025”, which went to the successful duo Martin and Sandra Burwinkel from Mühlen. Your company, Burwinkel Kunststoffwerk, looks back on a long tradition that began in the 1970s. Thanks to a clear focus on sustainability and the integration of the principles of the circular economy, which have been the focus since 2020, it has made a name for itself nationwide. “This is a good example of corporate responsibility,” said one participant at the gala.
Honors for life's achievements and innovations
Another highlight of the evening event was the award given to Alfons Diekmann. He received the honor for his entrepreneurial life's work. The founder of Alfons Diekmann GmbH from Damme was honored for his tireless commitment to electrical engineering. His courage and commitment are evidence of an impressive career that inspires many.
A breath of fresh air also blew in the “Business Founder of the Year” category, which went to Dirk Schöning and Christian Schulte from Downhole Equipment & Services GmbH in Neuenkirchen-Vörden. This award shows that innovative ideas and courageous steps can be fruitful even in times of challenges.
There were also a few surprises for the innovation awards. Agri Advanced Technologies (AAT) from Visbek impressed with its “Cheggy Zoom” system, which makes it possible to detect the gender of chicks in brown eggs without contact. This groundbreaking technology is another step towards sustainable agriculture.

- Gemeinsam gewann Gebrüder Ostendorf Kunststoffe und LWM Werkzeug- und Maschinenbau für die Entwicklung einer neuartigen Muffe zur schnelleren Verlegung von Stromkabel-Schutzrohren.
The entrepreneur awards are not only a sign of appreciation, they also promote awareness of sustainable practices in the region.
