BadeLand's reopening: Wolfsburg is looking forward to water fun!
What is happening in BadeLand Wolfsburg? On Saturday, July 12th, parts of this popular leisure pool will finally open again. In addition to the sports pool and sauna, part of the fun pool is also available to visitors. The rules are simple: opening times remain as usual – so welcome back in the water!
In the fun pool, the Mediterranean pool, the lazy river, the whirlpool and certain areas of the inner lawn can be used again. After a closure lasting several weeks that began on June 2nd, an unexpected number of additional repairs to the pools were discovered during the inspection work. This led to the water play garden remaining closed for the time being as the work is more extensive than originally thought. The renovation work is scheduled to be completed by September 30th.
Reduced entry prices during renovation
Temporarily reduced admission prices apply for the duration of the renovation. These offers are valid from June 19th to probably September 30th. During this time, adults only pay 5.30 euros for access to the sports and fun pool, while reduced entry prices for those entitled to access are 3.60 euros and 3.00 euros for children and young people. The good thing: the short swimmer ticket for 1.5 hours in the sports pool remains unchanged, and children up to 2 years of age only have to pay 1.00 euros. There is even a 20 percent discount on the entrance fee for the sauna area.
Political consultation on these price regulations has already taken place. A council decision was passed on June 18th to give visitors clarity on the price structure.
A look outside the box
According to a 2022 Forsa survey, around 58% of primary school children cannot swim safely when they transition to secondary school, and around 20% cannot swim at all. This shows how important access to swimming pools is. In addition, attention is drawn to the shortage of skilled pool attendants, which also contributes to the closure of pools on certain days, which further limits the availability of leisure activities. In these challenging times, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools in need of renovation are a central issue that concerns society. A clear plan and the right funding are needed to ensure that no citizen has to drive more than 30 minutes to a swimming pool. The situation around swimming pools is a real concern. Despite so many challenges, the reopening of BadeLand Wolfsburg reflects a ray of hope that, despite all the difficulties, demonstrates a good knack for leisure activities.
