B206 near Bad Segeberg: full closure ends - route open from Friday!

Road users in the region can breathe a sigh of relief: From Friday, June 27, 2025, the full closure of federal highway 206 near Bad Segeberg will be lifted. The route will be available to traffic again from early afternoon. This ends a long dry spell for commuters and residents who have been affected by the closure between the “Levo-Park” intersection and the K47 since mid-May. During this time, the roadway was thoroughly renovated over a total of three kilometers long.

The renovation work, which began on March 31, 2025, took place in four phases, with the final phase including the full closure of “Levo-Park” to the K47. Economics Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen (CDU) described this project as one of the four “outstanding” transport projects in the country and emphasized its importance for road safety. “Investing in our roads is very important because it will sustainably improve the infrastructure,” said Madsen.

Details about the construction project

As part of the renovation work, not only the roadway was renewed, but also the walking and cycle path in the immediate vicinity. The work took place in sections under sometimes strict safety precautions. In the past, even during partial closures, traffic was only guided past the construction area in one lane at a maximum speed of 30 km/h, which required patience for many drivers.

The total costs of the construction project amount to around four million euros, which will be covered entirely by the federal government. The transport connections and routing were continuously updated via press releases and the website of the Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LBV.SH). During the remaining work on the cycle path between Levo-Park and Hühnerkamp, the speed in the construction site area will also be limited to 40 km/h for two weeks. This applies to the road, which can only be used in one lane in each direction for a stretch of around 50 meters.

The renovation of the B206 is an important step towards improving the traffic situation in the region and should ensure less traffic jams and more safety in the long term. Residents in the area will be curious to see how the traffic situation develops once the road reopens. Information about the ongoing work can be found on the LBV.SH website at schleswig-holstein.de. Further details on the lifting of the full closure are available at NDR.
