In Elmshorn, the police were already on duty on Wittenberger Straße on November 11, 2025 to carry out a control operation. The operation, which was carried out jointly by several authorities, had, among other things, the task of monitoring compliance with road traffic regulations. A total of 53 vehicles, mostly refrigerated vehicles, were checked. As news.de reports, there were some discussions about the applicable regulations.
Among the violations identified, the Driving Personnel Act was a central issue. Eight violations of this law were recorded, once again highlighting the importance of compliance with driver regulations. But it wasn't just the driving personnel law that was violated. Two cases of illegal cell phone use were also documented. This shows that distracted driving is a serious problem. There was also one case of overloading a vehicle and two cases of inadequate load securing. Technical deficiencies were also an issue: defects in the technical equipment were found in eight cases. The Pinneberg district food inspectorate was also on site and only found minor deficiencies that could be remedied immediately.
This inspection operation is an important example of how authorities can work together to increase safety on the roads. The violations identified can have serious consequences for road safety.
