Exciting draw: Flensburg and Stuttgart share points!
On Thursday evening there was an exciting duel in the handball Bundesliga between SG Flensburg-Handewitt and VfL Stuttgart. The encounter ended in a 30:30 draw and Stuttgart secured their first point of the season. In a thrilling game, the guests from Stuttgart were able to excel, especially in the second half, and stage a strong comeback. The foundation for winning points was laid in the course of the first half.
The game got off to a fast start when Kent Robin Tonnesen scored the first goal for Flensburg in the first minute of the game. As a result, the home team stepped up and quickly led 3-0. But the up-and-coming people of Stuttgart were unimpressed. Antonio Serradilla scored VfL's first goal in the 7th minute, which brought the guests to 2:5. A little later, Max Häfner reduced the score to 4:5. After nine minutes it was already 5:4 for Flensburg, with Kevin Moller making a few saves in the Flensburg goal.
Intense first half
In the 13th minute, Max Häfner came into the game again and finally equalized to 6:6, before Stuttgart took its first lead in the 21st minute with 8:9. In the first half, which was characterized by intense duels and two expulsions, Emil Jakobsen and Simon Pytlick left the field with a red card. Despite these failures, Flensburg led 13:15 at halftime. However, the team struggled with the strong performance of Stuttgart, who kept coming back.
The game was exciting until the last second, and the spectators in the Flens Arena experienced a true handball drama. In the end, Stuttgart saved themselves into a draw with an impressive performance in the second half and thus took a big step forward in the season so far.
St. Pauli wins in Hamburg
Another look at the Bundesliga shows that FC St. Pauli triumphed in the Imtech Arena on the same evening. A 2-0 win against Hamburger SV brings a breath of fresh air to the team. Adam Dzwigala gave St. Pauli the lead in the 13th minute, followed by Andreas Hountondji, who increased the lead to 0-2 just before half-time. This performance fell into the same category of exciting sporting events that characterized the northern German sporting landscape on Thursday evening.
It was a difficult day for Hamburger SV. The team, playing in its own stadium, had to lose not only the game but also a player in the 13th minute due to a red card received by Giorgi Gocholeishvili. Despite several substitutions and efforts, HSV was unable to return to the game.
The great interest in these two games shows how lively sport is in Northern Germany and how important these experiences are for the numerous fans.
